Question 1800SR 3.0L Prop and Trim Tabs Suggestion needed

Hello, I have an 1800 SR with a 3.0l merc. I am looking for a little more top speed as I tend to run WOT for a while to get to some of our favorite spots. My question is if I change from 21p to 23p and add smart tabs, will I gain more top end without feeling too much negative affect from the 23p? Is there anyone else running an 1800 SR with a 3.0l and 23p? If so what is your top speed? and What is your WOT RPM?
Thanks!

J,

I don't know enough about props to help but these guys do: http://propgods.com/content/index.aspx

Tabs can be useful for helping to get on plane faster but the prop plays a large roll too. Suggest you make certain you are propped correctly first, then add tabs if still necessary.

Dan

A friend of mine has the same set up as you and he changed to 21" mercury Enertia and picked up 2-3 mph from his old 21". I think if you change to a 23" your motor will struggle to keep in wot rpm range. He also got improved holeshot. Tabs will help.
