I had a Lewmar 700G installed on my 2400 SCR a few years ago. Well worth the expense. Just flip a switch. I'm on S.F. Bay and it makes anchoring a breeze.

Thanks Mike & Calguy.
Calguy, do you have any photos of your install?
I used to boat in SF Bay but have not been down there in quite some time, can't stand the traffic.

Don the guy in the link I sent had more pictures from what I recall that covered the windless and swim platform but I can't seem to find them.

Mike
I know as I looked also.
Thanks

Calguy
You may have to reduce the size of the photos as this site wont take large format photos.
I do not know what size to reduce to.
Do you use all chain rode or chain/rope.
I did not think that there was enough room in the rope locker for that type windless with the motor under the deck.
Thanks
Don

Donald.....sorry could not load pix.....I have 25 ft of chain of the proper size. Also 100 ft of rope. That is plenty here in San Francisco Bay. Most of S.F Bay is very shallow. I usually anchor in no more than 30 ft of water. Am using a Bruce Anchor that hooks almost immediately. There is plenty of room for even more chain and rope in the locker...

A good windlass makes life so much easier out on the water. My model is 700G but now I think it is called Lewmar V 700.

Hi Donald, I'm sorry to bump a year old thread but I do have a windlass on mine. Did you ever get one installed? If not I can try to take pictures of mine next time I get to the boat.

Do not rush enjoy the days to come. Not in a big hurry as I have other issues to
take care of first.

Hi Don,
Last boat visit before the big day. Here are a couple pictures. Let me know if you need any more details of anything. I haven't even used it yet lol

Previous owner tells me there's 90ft of line in here but I haven't tested it yet. I may go ahead and replace all the rope since I don't know how old it is

Thank you.
Is that the water tank in the bow?
Hope it does not make the bow to heavy and cause handling issues.
Don

Not the best geometry, ideally the windless should have been place where the bow cleat is and the cleat should have been replaced by 2 on each side of the bow. 90 ft of rode isn’t much considering a scope of 5:1 to 7:1.

Oh I agree, I want to replace the rode anyways since I don't know how old it is. I think he only used it in very shallow waters though as it was.

mmwjr is correct. My Lewmar, chain and rode is lined up with the nylon roller. The bow cleat was moved to accommodate. Just used yesterday off the coast of Tiburon here on San Francisco Bay and worked perfectly....
