Default Windlass help

I have a 97' 2700 SCR. I am going to install a windlass and was looking at the Lewmar V700 series. My question is: has anyone with this style of boat (bow pulpit) installed a lewmar and if so is there enough anchor locker to use the vertical model as opposed to the horizontal. Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

when I had my 2700scr..it came with the lewmar v700 horizontal model...great windlass...I'd say that there is plenty of room for that model windlass...of course my boat was the 2003 model...basically the same.....you should have plenty of room in the locker for it..

I am in no way affiliated with either Maxwell or Defender and this is NOT A solicitation of any kind

Take a look at the Maxwell offered by Defender. This should be similar to the Lewmar model you're currently considering. These are being reduced because Maxwell is going to an all SS model and these are being discontinued. However, Maxwell has committed to making parts readily available (most interchange with teh current ss model, because it is only the body that is changing materials), as well as service and will continue to honor warranties. I was considering this one myself and was going to measure the clearance in the anchor locker the next time I'm down on the boat.
