After I googled the number I think it is a jabsco. What is it used for?

That is what I come up with also yet, I seen nothing resembling this pump.. It was in the head wall under another pump that service the fresh water take. It is hooked up to the toilet going to the drain in the engine compartment.

Please provide a picture of the drain in the engine compartment. The toilet should go to a drain plus the fitting look to small for a toilet.

Looks like a raw water cooling pump for A/C. Does the boat have aircondictioning?

Was there a hose connected to the pump in question? Are you sure it is just not an old fresh water pump the was left there and the other one replaced it?

I don't know? I thought that once. But it was connect to a huge black hose and the newer pump was connected to the fresh water tank and lines going to the water system. What are you thinking???

Really not sure but that is not the type of pump used for waste water.

The possibilities I see are fresh water, bilge, or A/C.

Have you tried tracing the black hose to see where it goes. Many black hoses on a boat.

You did not answer my question if you have A/C or not.

Photobucket is crushing my browser and making it unresponsive. You could just upload them to the thread rather than redirecting us.

In the picture where the two pumps are side by side, the pump on the right is a pressure water pump for the faucets. The pump on the left is a commonly categorized as a remote bilge pump, however Maxum used them as shower drain pumps. That is basically what mine looks like.

Do you have a drain the floor of your head?

Ok the pump is either a shower drain or bilge pump. The input side is either connected to the shower drain or a pick up in the bilge. The output should go to a side through hull fitting to discharge the water, this will be above the water line.
