Default Soft spot near the ski locker

Hi folks. I'm new to this forum so thanks for the add. I just bought a 1992 1800sr. Its in pretty good shape overall. The last owner took pretty good care of it. I do have a soft rotting spot on the floor on the starboard/bow end and I,d lime to fix it before it gets worse. How difficult is this? I'm pretty handy and no stranger to woodworking and have the tools but I've never worked on biats before. Thanks in advance for any hints

I’m assuming it’s got carpet over it so that will need to be removed. Then you’ll need to cut the deck and inspect the strings for damage. Then rebuild.

In my experience with repairing wood structures, as well as my current experience as a newbie to fiberglass boat repair, any amount of soft spots or visible rot is just the tip of a much bigger iceberg where you can't see. The work is not too complex but, it will take some time and a lot of elbow grease... and some knowledge of fiberglass repair.
