Default Repairing Water Damage to Dash Panel?

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have advice on how I might refinish the dash panel on my 1997 Maxum 3000? I bought it recently and the previous owner appears to have allowed water to damage the top layer of the dash panels.

I've attached a photo of one spot as an example. It's that way in a variety of places. Hoping to not have to replace them if possible.

Thanks,
Ken

I have the same issue and I haven’t yet found a way to repair or reverse the damage.
To keep it from getting worse, be sure the little nylon washers insulate the screw from the dash. That’s the main source of the corrosion. Two different metals and a little salt water are enough to cause damage in a very short time frame.

Thanks very much, I'll check the washers to make sure it doesn't get worse.

Cheers,
Ken
