Default Raw Water Pickup

Hey all, I have a 1997 2300sc. I want to drill a hole for a raw water intake. I'm going to use this for a bait well / wash down. I'm looking for any advice from someone who may have done this before. Also any info on hull thickness and best location would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

So what you title should have been is raw water pickup and not strainer.

Make sure the seacock handle is in a easy to reach location in case you need to close it for an emergency.

here is where I put mine on my 1900sr... easy access to seacock threw engine hatch door if in an emergency.

Where would you install a bait well on a 1900 bow rider? A raw water washdown on a carpeted boat?

Is there a ski locker forward of the engine compartment? I doubt you're going to get a seacock in that engine compartment.

bait tank is easy... I have a 32 gallon Kodiak pro flo on my 1900sr... see attached pic... I had no problems getting a seacock in mine you just have to use a 90 degree on it to the pump... look at pic in prior post
