Default Radar Tower

Hi All,
I need to repair my radar tower. I fabricated a custom tower from 4" dia. aluminum tube and two 7" plates. When I built this I didn't have the funds so I cheapened out on a few things.
I ended up painting the tower which is now peeling and bought some auto 55w driving lights, one forward one aft. They are now rusting. I knew this would happen, but at the time was all I could afford. Three years later- I still cant afford it but I cant afford not to fix it.
So the tower will get stripped and powder coated along with the aluminum speaker horn.
I will purchase 2 LED lights to replace the metal auto 55w driving lights.

The lights only draw .75 amps, the old 55w halogens drew 5 amps. They seem to be just as bright from my research. They are 2" square and will fit nicely on the tower. They have a stainless bracket and hardware and are powder coated and are waterproof.

Has anyone ever used these on their boat? They are used much more for motorcycles.

I have pics of my existing tower.

I'll post more pics as I progress.

thanks for the pic's and link....sorry to say I haven't used these new lights...one thing I'm finding out is that the led lights don't seem to throw the light farther as say halogen does......I don't quite understand why they don't....I replaced my radar arch lights with led and they don't seem to be as bright.......
let us know how it all works out..

Well I got the parts back from powder coating (finally) and they look great.
I also bought the LED lights.

Still have to sand and paint the dome and put on my new FURUNO stickers for it.

Here are some pics so far. I'll post more when it's finished.
