Default Hydrofoil fins

Hey guys I have a maxum 290scr 2001 with twin 4.3l v6 190hp each I am thinking on fitting hydrofoil fins to both legs to see if I can acheive better fuel economy and lower revs on the plane has anyone done this

Also on bravo 2 leg and thinking of Changing props as my wot is 4100 rpm and manual says 4400 - 4800 rpm so thing I may have to change props

I don't recommend them, the drive is not designed for them and when during the warranty period adding them actually voids the warranty. Merc will not stand behind any claims if they are added.

They also increase lift stress on the transom assembly, again not designed for it.

Any potential improvements are not worth it. I would recommend larger trim tabs or adding the drop wing to them.

Yae had new spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, impeller, and thermostat on both engine boat is not been out the water in 2 years so planning taking her out next few weeks

Two years of marine growth can really slow a boat down.

I'll second "Just say no" to foils on the outdrives. Lift should be coming from the hull, not the outdrive/transom assembly. Incidentally, foils will NOT improve fuel efficiency.
