Default Green Hull

Does anyone know, can I sand the green gelcoat down to the original white? It has scratches in the Green area that look terrible. It almost looks like I could remove the green and leave the whole boat the same beige color. Thoughts?

The green is the gel coat removing it may not reveal gel coat of the other color.

You can restore the green by wet sanding with 1000 then 2000 paper, followed by 3M finesse then wax.

Thanks Mike, I guess I'll need to fill in the scratches first. I just bought the boat and the scratches went right through the green.
