Default Carb to fuel injection

So my quadrajet carb crapped out on my SCR and I put a kit in it and I had it off and went thru it 5 times, after all 5 it took pulling to river to do water test before finding that it still wasn't fixed and so it crossed me for the last time...

Quadrajet

Off with the crap

Not what you'd expect to see when you open the hatch

Eprom burner. Moates.net memcal adapter

Wiring harness reconfigured to route forward

Me too. I thought that if the computer is running in open loop then the 02 isn't needed, if it runs in closed loop it does need it. Should be able to reprogram it to eliminate the 02 but I guess it depends on the computer.

I need to stay in the shallow end when it comes to discussing FI. LOL

Still perfecting my tune. Started with with 91' Camaro Z28 / 5 speed definition file and slowly but surely perfecting the tune. Going to log some data this afternoon to make a few last changes before heading to Chattanooga TN this weekend.

There was a significant amount of fab work to the cooling system as the Tuned port intake does not allow the thermostat housing to mount to the intake. Otherwise, pretty straight forward.

I have a marine certified walbro inline pump with adj regulator on the rail.

If you want to run in closed loop, a O2 sensor is required. Otherwise your running off predefined settings in the ecm with no learning ability.

Had 80% of the components on hand so hard to say for sure. I'd guess $1200 would buy most of the parts needed.

about 1/6 the cost of a new small block with EFI, well for now my carb is working fine but something to think about in the future. Of course as time goes on the value and health of my engine decreases so if and when the time comes will have to access the value.
