You 3300 guys with that "giant" swimstep!!!!! I love the looks, just afraid of the summer temps. I am looking at snap on carpet, but in the summer my platform is 90% wet all day.

You 3300 guys with the "giant" swimstep! I love the looks of the nuteak, just worry about the summer temps here in AZ. I am looking at snap on carpet, but my swimstep is wet 90% of the day in the summer. Anyone have any carpeted swimsteps???

Boy those teak decks sure do look nice..............but I don't know if you have priced one of these babies out?$$$$$$$ It has to be maybe a 1/2 cent cheaper than the real stuff.......boy do they have this stuff marked up.

I have been told they don't get very hot for the feet.

To carpet a swim platform would be a piece of cake. You make a template and take to your local carpet store. Have them cut it out, sew an edge on and then you put the snaps in.

Than again I would almost look into becoming a teak dealer for central Illinois with a mark up like they have.

With our 3000 I would rather get the platform extension, than the teak if I had a choice.........

we have a thread for Corinthian marine carpets....decent price...excellent work...fast service...(and I mean as in light speed service).....we carpeted my swimstep when we got the boat...best 400 bucks I ever spent....

I'll post some photos of them...believe me ...with the rubber backing...the carpets dry out really quick....nice on the feetsies....and the dogs love it too..

do you have to grind down the grip on the deck to install nuteak??

Boat down the dock has a similar product (not sure which brand) and it looks great. Problem is they can not sit on it or walk on it barefoot, very very hot. They even put a towel down for the small dog to walk on.

Heat......that's what worries me. It's 118 degrees outside here in az, anything is too hot to stand on that's not wet first!!!

Wow, after looking at this I had visions of doing the entire cockpit and swim step and getting rid of my carpet all together. Then i priced it and I'm really liking my carpet again.

Flexiteak is an alternative, though I don't know if the price would be any different than Nuteak. Seadeck also makes a 'teak-like' pattern that is very nice. Again not sure about prices, but i thought it's worth mentioning there may be some options.

I'm super curious about this too. Given the size of the boat the swim platform on the 2400 SC3 is fairly large, but devoid of any color or charactor.

My concerns are the same as y'alls: heat retention and the possibly of needing to grind down the grip texture - which sounds like no fun at all.

The texture on mine is pretty agressive, whereas the picture of BS's platform looks more like a sand texture. Bella, can you snap a close up of your's that shows the texture?

Interesting, appears the same as mine. Am rather surprized that they said it doesn't need to be removed.

With the decking sitting on top of the diamond non skid I wonder how the edges turn out - I'd have to think there would be glue showing.....

I have to agree with "dronthelake", the Nuteak and any of those aftermarket faux teak and holly type products are extremely hot. The product reps will tell you that they aren't hot, but I've felt it for myself on a friends boat...its very hot. There are some things that just don't need modifying (in my world). Even the Corinthian Carpet on the platform is an odd one for me. I have the corinthian carpet throughout the upper decks on the boat, and while they are really nice, they still hold an amount of water. One of the best things about a swim platform is that its a great area to dry off after swimming, so as not to bring half of the lake onboard with you. Anything that keeps water, or burns the soles of your feet off so that you can't stand on it to dry off seems to contradict one of the best features of a swim platform.

Jesse, btw...They are shipping my new extended swim platform this coming Friday. I'll take lots of pics when we do the install...looking forward to the new real estate, minus any coverings

yo bella,

with the temps of this days i can tell you this.........the deck get's freaking hot....my wife told me when she entered the boat last sunday with bare feet.......so always wear shoes when the temps are extreamly high.........or throw water over the deck......but the look is wunderfull so i do'nt care of a hot deck.....and you'll be very happy with your "teak"deck......2K is a reasonable price........

geatz, ed
