Great idea. We just stick a short piece of foam (water floaty) under the door.

Last spring we had the entire top and enclosure replaced as well as extended the back to get rid of the slant. We also had a full width screen made for the front. The top of it attaches to Velcro along the front valance, the sides use the same zippers as the front glass and the bottom uses the same snaps as the front glass. The front glass is never taken down or rolled up. It swings up and snaps to the underside of the arch. Hopefully this will extend its life and keep it from getting scratched. It is also handy when the summer afternoon rain pops up. Just drop it and snap it.

We get great ventilation with the front screen in.

The front vinyl stays zipped along the top and pulls back & up to the arch so the wind doesn't bother it and at 30 mph the screen does fine. We had the valance made an inch longer to accommodate 1" wide Velcro. The entire perimeter of the top as well as all the vertical laps have Velcro along with the zippers. This keeps everything tight even when the wind picks up.

A walk-thru windshield would be nice. The cabin door is centered with the head to port and the entrance to the rear berth to starboard. During warm weather when the side curtains are down I can stand on the helm seat and step onto the starboard side deck very easily. When she is closed up I have to step up on to the port side deck at the rear of the cockpit. If I have to tend to the anchor the Admiral has no problems maneuvering the boat.
