They "guessed" mine at 350 HP.... a long shot but whatever that's why I had these made. All in fun.... she'll run 60 flat out trimmed just right with 2 adults.

Is the intake rated for salt water use or do you plan to use a closed cooling system?

If rated for salt water use they should have anodes that need to be replaced. I have see these intakes fail in 3 years with h result being water in the oil.

Definitely want to run several sacrificial anodes if you are going to be in salt water. It’ll munch that intake up like a chocolate cookie. Not sure that air cleaner is "flash suppressant" rated either?? I guess Marine approved means it is? Just hate to see you burn it down.

I hear you. It says "flame arrestor" on the box. I guess its Coast Guard approved.

The boat will be used 100% fresh water. We go to north Idaho and near Grand Coulee Dam.

Is there a procedure for removing the rear motor mount from the bell housing? Do I have to get it pressed out?Click image for larger version

? never replace one or hear of someone doing it. The new one looks like it would press in. Did you google this one?

PS: i don't see any reference of this in my book.

I reused mine. It's a 95.. no problem so far @ 3+ years.

Found this though - http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...cruiser.html#b

You can do some amazing things with a big assed slide hammer - http://www.harborfreight.com/15-piec...-set-5469.html

Also IIRC both my rears had a silver shim/sleeve/spacer whatever thing under them. It sucked getting then back in under the long bolts. Also make sure both side mounts are freed up and easily adjustable for the gimbal alignment… not a fun process.

I wanted new bolts and felt washer and lock washer. I could only find it in a kit. These were in the kit. http://www.cpperformance.com/p-28256...rvice-kit.aspx
So you think I don't need to replace the rubber part?

Thank you for the links, very helpful. I guess if these get weak you won't be able to do the alignment correctly.

What is IIRC? I dread the gimbal alignment.

Slide the bolt in there and move it from side to side.. look for dry rot/cracking/excessive movement (just in the rubber portion) There are some stability factors there but essentially I think they are meant for vibration dampening.

The rubber seems pretty good. I can flex the rubber with the bolt a small bit but it seems ok. Its 19 years old though.
