Default 1995 2100 SR remodel

Sold my big boat, bought my childhood boat 6 years ago from my parents in Idaho. Got a good deal for $3K including the trailer, but I'm in deep into the remodel, and not done. Threw a rod on Lake Mead 2nd time out in 2019 which was not part of the original rebuild plan, was told the motor was perfect. Not sure what happened but there was rusty water in the engine block. Mechanic thinks it got partially submerged, but no one in the family ever owned up to it (big family, easy to hide). Really wasn't any salvaging it, so that led to the discussion of, "if we're gonna redo the motor, what are we going to do". The drive was still good, so we couldn't go too big or we'd have to replace the drive. We bumped the 5.0 to a 5.7 and stroked it up to a 383. Added a full wrap, tower, bimini, 12 speaker stereo, on board inverter, on board battery charger and conditioner, two battery system, PA system, ship to shore radio, GPS, rewired the trailer front to back and all new lights. Pending projects are to replace the carpet with something other than carpet, replace all the gauges as some don't work, review/assess remaining wiring, throttle assembly, fuel sender and bilge pump, and then probably upholstery last. Got A LOT of work into her, and have had a lot of questions. Wish I found this forum sooner. I am sure I will have many more questions though :-). If anyone has any suggestions or feedback, would love to hear it.

Welcome aboard!

The boat looks great with all the updates. A 30 year old engine can go for many reasons. I know it’s a fresh water boat but over 30 years it’s not unheard of for the exhaust system to corrode enough to allow water ingestion. The Alpha drive is good for 300 HP. Enjoy your ride.
