Default Visiting Canada - Phone advice

I will be visiting Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler, BC Canada next week.

Does anyone have any recommendations on cell phones? I was thinking it might be cheaper for my wife to just buy a Canadian Pre-paid phone. I have Sprint and they at least offer a Canadian roaming plan to bring the per minute charge down to .19 per minute, and no data charges. My wife is on USCellular and they are $3 per Tower charge and .99 per minute and no data avail.

I'm not sure how this is gonna work ...probably getting a prepaid phone wouldn't be a bad idea....
