Default SoCal boat livin...?

My wife and I are planning to move to SoCal probably between LA and San Diego. We are thinking of living in a boat for the first year if feasible.

I was thinking of a cruiser in the 30' range. Any suggestions for us? We have never done anything like this before but we really want to try it out.

It's just us and the two dogs so no kid worries.

I have a Maxum 3200 SCR and I could definitely see living aboard it as a viable option it is 32' or 35' overall.... The thing you have to think about when it comes to living aboard is storage for all your stuff. .. It takes more stuff in general while living aboard then if you are just using the boat on the weekends. ... plus you always seem to collect more stuff as you go, if you keep the hoarding to a minimum a 30 to 35 would be doable! My 3200 had a huge aft cabin that could second as a nice size closet/storage area. The other thing you have to consider is the cost of dockage and other costs associated with keeping a boat in year round.
Good luck.... Keep us posted, as this is also something I am considering doing sometime in the future, possibly when I retire.

I think you can get on the Oceanside list and Sheraton in SD harbour. Don't think there is anything else down in SD county.
