Guys and newbies...we've been hit with several spammers over the past few weeks....they have been deleted and banned....
Spamming will not be allowed on this site and the offender will have his isp removed from the list .....
I've had several conversations with Jonathan and we agree that the policy will be to immediately remove the post and ban the perp....

please note...if a person comes here with the intent to sell junk or spam...they will be removed....

everyone is welcome to come here and talk boats...maxum's/bays/etc...but selling cell phones or other junk won't be tolerated....

Be sure to keep an eye on users who sign up just to get a URL in there signature. I am now checking all new users for this kind of link spam in my forum.

could you elaborate on that a hair??....what would a url do for them??..

They put a link that goes to a porn site, a site that installs parasites/virus'/etc on your computer, browser hijack scripts... that kind of stuff. A member views their profile and clicks on the url and *poof*.

Some also do it for link popularity. The more natural looking links that go to a site can increase that sites ranking in google and the like. Also, if this site links to what are called "bad sites" in the eyes of the search engines it can hurt the ranking for this site... it can even lead to getting banned by google all together.

this site stays pretty clean so far and we'd like to keep it that way....I've deleted several threads from spammers and it seems like they are starting to increase....
