Don't know much about commercial aircraft Steve, but that 787 looks - well, little. I thought they were bigger. Is it considered a wide body? I imagine it comes in different lengths/capacities. What model is the 787 meant to replace?

Dan..
the 787 IS indeed a wide body....the configuration is 2-5-2...2 seats on the sides with 5 in the middle....it's original design was to replace the 767...BUT!!!..with the advent of the KC767A tanker project...it saved the 767 line from closing down....
it seats 250 pax....and has a range of bout 7500 nautical miles.....

Neat. I'd love to get a tour of the assembly facility - I'd love to see the naked air frame and all the mechanical bits that go into making an airplane. I'm facinated by that stuff.
