Steve and Ed......Saw the marching band and thought it was cool........but the word "Tatoo" what does it mean and how are you pronouncing it?

I have looked it up and googled it with no luck.

Does it go with Danish Tatoo?

Enlighten me please!

roger...not sure where the term Tatoo comes from but it's basically a performance by a precision band or arm of a military close quarter drill team.....

that's about all I know.....
ok..found it...

here's a definition of a military Tattoo...

hai roger

in dutch taptoe means the following,

origionally taptoe was a militairy drumsignal to tell the sodiers to get out of the pubs and bars, and go back to their barracks, and that the pub owners had to shut their beertaps. the signal was given from 21.30 untill 22.00...the start of the eveningclock/curfew (all the people of the streets)

in dutch ...tap... means beerpump and ...toe... means close...so taptoe means close the beerpumps

you also can find the meaning on wikipedia.........

greatz, ed
