Default Wanted: 17-3/4 x 21 prop set for bravo II

Well, I am in need of a new prop, and it appears the size on my boat are relatively rare. I am happy with my prop set up, and not really interested in making a change.

I'm wondering if anyone else has repropped and has a pair of 17-3/4x21 or 23 props around? They would need to be the spline count for a Bravo II drive. I need the left hand desperately, but could also use the right hand.

Or, if someone has some suggestions on a prop set up that approximates my current but is easier to come by, I'm all ears!!!

Awesome! Except it says not currently available. Great site though. I'll keep an eye on it.

Have you searched the WEB? I saw many other sites that came up googling for your prop size some were new for about $650, but bravo 2 props are not cheap because of the odd size and number of them is a lot less than Alphas

Oh, I've seen much cheaper than that, and yes I've searched....

Best I've seen is about $350 each new. Used ones are very hard to find. Just no inventory out there.

This is not a rare size. You're looking for either:

3-Blade: 17.75 x 21

OR

3-Blade: 19.5 x 22

If you're happy with the Max. WOT RPM, then I would stick with the 17.75 x 21 that you've been using. These are not hard to find, just not common to be found USED. Either people are using their props, or replacing damaged props. The used prop market is always lean as a result.

Unobtainium props! Lol.

I have never run my boat to WOT. I like just getting on plane and humming along.

Maybe if I get this new job I'm looking at, I'll buy gold plated ones! Lol.

Have you considered the more economical solution of sending them out for repair and refurbishment. They do wonderful things today, coming back just like new.

Yup. Believe it or not, there are no longer any prop shops in Jacksonville Florida. I sent my port prop out to Brunswick, GA to get it worked on. They weren't sure it would survive a new hub being pressed in, which is why I was hedging my bets by shopping.

Just got a call that it is back at the marina, and all fixed! I'll find out in a couple hours when I run over there.

Still shopping though, I need spares.

Never had this problem before. All my prior boats were either Merc outboard or Alpha one, which all share props. I have 6 of those props laying around the garage. I gave 2 with an extra motor I sold... They were just always a dime a dozen.

Well, got my port prop back repaired. She survived getting a new hub. Still in the market for spares, though!

Interesting...

My props are different sizes. 19.5 diameter on the port, and 17 3/4 on the starboard. Both 21 pitch.

I guess that explains why I've always felt like the port motor had more "power."

So, I guess I'm still shopping!!!

That would explain it. Guess the port required more throttle to keep the boat straight.

Well, there are several differences. The port motor was replaced last year. The port outdrive shifts much harder than the starboard. A solid thunk, vs. The starboard quietly shifts in. The starboard throttle cable is tighter than the port.

The 2 motors are very different. Its taken a little to get used to it. The prop difference is just the latest piece.

The boat has character. :-)
