I bought my 1992 1800 sr last summer and love it but it lacks storage space alot of boats i see have the under seat bow storage areas i have seen other 1992 sr like mine with it but mine doesn't.. it has the seat cushion that comes out and buttons to hold it in place but no storage id like to cut it out and do so but wounded if its not there for a reason or if anyone thinks that i shouldnt cut into the wood under the seat. Only thing thats stopping me is if it takes away the structure strength from the boat... any help and info is greatly appreciated thanks

Can you post some pictures of what you have so we can get a better idea. I would think you can do what you wanted as long as the opening is not to big otherwise it will need to be reinforced to span the opening.
