Default Bilge Space Winterization?

Does anyone in the colder climates pour anti-freeze in your bilge spaces as part of the winterization process? Or is that a little over the top?
Thanks!
Steve

I am in the Maritime Provinces in Canada. I have had boats since 1984 and have never added antifreeze to the bilge.

The only reason to do so would be if you felt that there could be water trapped in confined spaces that could cause damage when it froze and expanded. However, it would be a bit messy and may cause a smell, but it probably depends on the size, type of boat, bilge, etc to a certain extent. Also how do you intend to get rid of the aintfreeze in the spring? I guess one could always use plumbers antifreeze and that would probably eliminate most of the foregoing problems. Just my opinion.

nope...keep the bilge dry...don't pour antifreeze into the bilge...not going to do anything but make it slippery and polute the area when you drain it out.....
