Angry Starter Motor

Looking for some advice - It appears that my Maxum 2100 SC ( Engine 5.0L MPI) requires a new starter motor - I have been told that the engine may need to be taken out to change it - is this really necessary? Seems a little extreme.

Welcome aboard.

These can be hard to get to but removing the exhaust manifold from the starboard size should give you plenty of access to replace the starter.
