Default Screws for Simulated Wood Panels at Helm

The some of the screws that fasten the simulated wood panels to the helm station on my boat were starting show some silver under the black oxide. Also, some were missing the plastic washers that are supposed to prevent the finish on the simulated wood panels from cracking and flaking off. I decided to replace all the screws and washers and I ordered them from McMaster Carr.
The plastic washers are twice the thickness of the originals, which I actually prefer. The part numbers are listed below, if you are interested.

1
90356A267
Pan Head Phillips Screw for Sheet Metal, Black-Oxide 18-8 Stainless Steel, No. 8 Size, 3/4" Length, packs of 50
2
90295A400
Nylon Flat Washer, Number 8 Screw Size, 0.173" ID, 0.375" OD, Black, packs of 100

Here is a pic of the helm station with the new screws and washers installed and a pic of a side by side comparison of the old screw/washer (top) and the new( bottom).

Looks great. I did mine a few years back. Picked the black pan head screws up at Ace Hardware.
