Default Sanitation hose-4100 SCA

What is the trick to replacing sanitation hoses? I've removed the old hoses and PVC male adapter but the new 1 1/2' hose will only go about 2/3rds onto the new PVC male adapter. I've tried submerging into boiling water with the same result.

Heat, lube and aggression. Soften the hose in hot water, apply some lube. There are commercial products, but Dawn or KY work really well too. Then aggressively shove the hose on, not stopping until it’s fully seated. Stopping allows the hose to conform to the fitting in seconds and you’ll have a heck of a time getting it started again.
