Default Maxum 3100se 2005 - toilet function

Hi folks,

New to the forum and to Maxum boats, we just picked up a terrific 3100, the hull and accommodation is in terrific shape however we have experienced two problems since taking her out.

Problem 1 was that the starboard engine spun a bearing after one of the oil filter pipes burst and filled the bilge with oil (totally tragic but we're dealing with that)

Problem 2 and one I hope I can fix on my own is the holding tank. Now, the toilet works brilliantly but the two switches I was advised by the previous owner that discharges the holding tank just don't seem to do anything, is there another button, switch, valve etc that I need to activate here? The owner has a receipt for a new macerator installed in the last couple of months.

Hopefully something simple.

Best wishes,

Stan

Welcome aboard

Sucks loosing an engine that way.

If the boat is equipped for overboard discharge there should be a y valve. Find the macerator and follow the hose until you find the valve. Guess when you bought the boat you should have had the previous owner go over it with you.

The valve will be near the transom. I'm not sure where you are located but it is illegal to discharge waste in most areas.I'd suggest you get clarification from your local coast guard.

Pleased to report that the new macerator installed by the previous owner was simply missing a wire... it had fallen off. New wire installed and problem solved... now to fix the engine :-/
