Default Maxum 18 (3Ltr) - Steering slack

Hi Guys

Whats the remedy for slack in the steering, not noticeable at planing speeds, but two inches of play in the steering wheel at slow maneuvering speeds

cheers: John

John, this could be due to a few different things. Check that the bolts which hold the rack to the pinion assembly under the helm are not loose. Check that the U bolt which pinches the swivel shaft on the transom assembly is torqued correctly and that there is not excessive play here, this is a common issue.
