Default Head holding tank exterior outlet switch

Hi all, second post. I have another small conundrum. The head when its pumped seems to expel the detritus into the water through the exterior vent instead of into the holding tank. I think this means a blockage between the head pipes and the tank but am unsure. The last thing I want to do is take this pipework apart if I don't have to so any help here would be great.

The vent comes off the holding tank and not before it, for some reason pressure is building in the tank, is it full?

Hi again. The tank is almost completely empty. There is possibly an inch of fluid in it. I haven't opened the extraction cap yet as I only bought the boat yesterday but when using rhe head, it was pumping out through the vent. Not great and it stank a bit obviously especially as we were in a marina.

If your tank is almost empty and your getting stuff coming out the vent it sounds like at some point the tank was over filled and the vent got filled with crap. Try back flushing the vent with a water hose
