Default Canvas Cover Waterproofing

Hello,

Does anyone know how to re-waterproof a canvas mooring cover? They sell a product at West Marine called "303 high tech" that Sunbrella recommends but its expensive and I have a 20 year old boat so using premium product is never really my first choice...anyone used Scotchguard with any success or any other treatment?

Thanks
