Default Canvas and plastic

Hi, new member here...I have had my 2700 SCR since 2001 (2nd owner) and have had fun much ever since. I had a quote recently to replace plastic windows and zippers. Can't see out of the back anymore and windsheild is still ok, but not so good at night. The replacement plastic is 30 guage which is thinker than the original. I also found a bimini top and plastics (new, never used) for about $800 more than the quote. Question I have that does the new one need to be fitted for the boat or can I use the original snaps (location).
Also, is there a specific method to installing the new top? (i.e. loosen frame, connect front, rear, then sides and tighten, etc.) Mine is currently tight in front/rear, but loose on stbd side.

This boat has been great for us, but have had the itch to upgrade...I could live with it if we had to. Thanks

you can remove the eisenglass panels..take them to a local canvas shop or top shop..and they can either duplicate them or zip the old eisenglass out and sew in new 40 mm eisenglass for probably about 20-30 bucks a panel....

welcome to the zoo...

I actually got a quote to replace using 30mm for all except the triangle pieces (rear panel), add 2 horseshoe screens, new zippers and some new zippers for the bimini for about $950. It seemed high, but considering the morring cover cost about the same, it didn't seem so bad a price. But hey, I'm in new york...everything is expensive Thanks for the reply!
