I would not. I know that the regular Mercury gear lube is not recommended for the Bravo 3 either. You should use an oil that has the ability to handle some water contamination while still protecting your gears and bearings. I use Amsoil, synthetic marine gear lube. Works great.http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/agm.aspx

Most of the high horsepower offshore guys are using Amsoil in their drives and report having great luck with it. If you would like to order some, please use my dealer number (1203272) on the website when you check out,

Thanks!!

Special marine-grade formulations are designed to withstand high amounts of water contamination. They contain stable extreme pressure additives and corrosion inhibitors to protect gears and bearings subject to corrosion by water seepage. Special antifoam agents are added to insure lubrication to all gears and bearings under the severe churning action of marine gear cases. I use Amsoil myself.

As much as I hesitate to throw my hat in a oil/drive lube discussion on the intarweb -

Nor would I, but while I wouldn't use regular Merc gear lube, I would (and do) use Quicksilver High Performance gear lube.

Ditto. It also comes in a handy, 8OZ, resealable, tube dispenser for those quick top off's
