Default Bimini Top Mounting Hardware

Greetings shipmates ! Bimini Top --Broke the plastic clips that attach to the windshield rail on my 2300SR, year 2002 . The Bimini Top poles then attach to these plastic clips. I have seen no hardware that attaches to the windshield rail on the internet t. Any ideas where I might find these?

I bought 4 from a dealer in Rhode Island Silver Spring Marine over the summer, they shipped them to me. Part number is 1705898.

Wow, I just now called and ordered four. They will drop ship them to me.
You're a life saver as I gave up searching the internet and was about to set out to a local machine shop and have them made
Thanks mate.

Glad to help, I actually found the part number from this site just by searching around a bit. Its funny you mentioned getting a machine shop to make them I had thought about the same thing, my dad is a machinist, I may give him one of my old ones as a sample to see what he can do. Metal would be much better then this plastic.

While trying to lean my top (folded) to the rear, three out of four mounts snapped like pretzel sticks. I have no idea why or how that could happen. I was trying to attach my camper back. Note to self. Don't try that again. I searched the internet and this site for over four hours but came up empty. I'm shocked I didn't come across the part information on this site.
You did. That's why you're LtJG and I'm whale s__t

Those parts are available, don't over complicate it.
Got several from previous boat in my garage.

It happens, I'm pretty sure that was the firs thing I broke when I bought mine in April.

They are available, but for how long? A nice metal one would seemingly out last the boat.

I'm going to look into aluminum mounts. But I'm thinking maybe the reason Maxum had them made out of plastic is so they break BEFORE the windshield does. I released the front two mounts and started to pivot the top to the aft end of the boat. The two rear mounts snapped immediately and a third broke as I was struggling to put it back to the correct position.
Can't say I like this setup. I walked up and down the marina dock to inspect how other manufactures mount their tops. Not a single one had Tops mounted to the windshield.

Several builders used the "plastic" back in the day. Also a lot of our older boats came from factory with cockpit covers and the biminis were added later. Sword you make a good point that maybe you would rather have the clip break than the $windshield.

Just received the Bimini top plastic clips from Silver Springs Marine.
Want to thank you again for the info.
Machine shop wanted $200 for the 4. You saved me a bundle

Seems like something that might lend itself to 3D printing when no longer available. That won't cost $200!

No problem, glad to help!

If your dash switches are the little toggle switches that light up amber on the end and have a silver ring around them then I'd invest in one or two. That was the next thing that broke on mine, I went to turn on the bilge and the switch fell into the dash, the plastic threads that hold it on using the metal ring broke.

LOL I have one with a bent stem but it still works. Of course you have to take the radio out to change it. I saw them on ebay . I know they are available from a Carling dealer and I heard West Marine has another brand that will match

I tried to find these switches everywhere but wasn't having luck. I did see the ones on ebay but none them seemed to be exactly what I had, mine light up amber when they are on. I lucked out and found the on-off and an on-off-on switch at my local Bayliner dealer and bought an extra of each to have as spares.

Grainger has them. Look for SPST 20 amp if your pump switch has three connections. They also have them on e bay but I don’t know how to send the link. Search Carling toggle switch.
