Default Back seat leg problem on SCR 2600

The leg that holds the back seat and pivots when the engine cover is opened has pulled out of the hole.
What can I do to fix it? It appears that there is a ring or something that goes around the pipe is missing. If so, what do I buy to replace it? And what kind of glue is best to put it in?

A picture would be helpful.

Is this the folding leg of a removable bench seat?

The bottom of the seat is wood. If this is a wood screw, then the way we fixed this issue was to do the following.

1) remove the upholstry on the seat. There are staples inside of the trim on the underside. Use a small common screwdriver or a staple puller.

2) remove the cushion.

3) using a 316 stainless machine screw (bolt), nyloc (locking) nut and washers, through-bolt the mounting hardware.

4) give the seat base a good coat of poly, (or fabricate a new one (chances are the wood screw pulled because the plywood is compromised with water and rotting).

5) re-install the cushion.

6) use stainless steel staples to re-upholster the seat.

Default It is by the floor

The end of the leg that attaches to the deck which is also the engine cover, not the end that attaches to the seat.

There is a round opening in the deck to accept the leg pipe. I will take a picture later today and post it.

But thank you for the detailed answer. I so appreciate this forum.
