I have a bit of an AC related question, so I'll append this thread. (I apologize for the hijack).

The raw water pickup for the AC is a running pickup way at the back of the hull near the transom. It's the kind bronze kind with slots. I found a lot of barnacles in it this spring and used a screw driver to clean most of it out. I'm concerned that the barnacles continue up into the through hull and seacock. It looks like there a few screws on the pickup on the hull side. Does anyone know if this can be easily removed, or are these through bolted to the seacock in the bilge? I don't really want to remove the whole deal. I just want to confirm it is free and clear of barnacles.

I have the same conern for the raw water pickup for the JAbsco toilet. This is a no n-running pickup and is the round kind with holes in it.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

BTW- when you see how much water the AC cycles through and pumps out, you'd NEVER want to dump that into the bilge and rely on your bilge pump to keep you afloat.

If you remove it you will have to do a very good job of sealing the fiberglass when you put it back. What I do is clean it out with a small putty knife and open the strainer up while you are still out of the water. Put a hose in the strainerand check the flow out Backwards to the through hull ( It is one whole system) and unbolts from the inside of the hull

The AC's condensate drain's into a shower-sump type pump, located next to the aft AC unit, located under the setee curved bench aft.
