3200 Shower Sump issues (won't drain after 1st time)
I've replaced the old, badly clogged shower sump. The discharge line was partially clogged, totally clear now. New sump box installed and then run the shower, and perfect, box fills, the float triggers the pump, water gets pumped over. Perfect! HOWEVER!!!! when the box fills the 2nd time, the float triggers the brand new pump, but the water won't go out??!? I can wiggle the drain hose manually and sometimes the water starts to pump out! WTF?!?

You're taking to long in the shower!
Sounds like the discharge hose has a spot that quickly collects hair, ... and is getting clogged. I recommend replacing the line just cannot tell you how to access it to do so.

The box is small, and I have yet to have a shower, was testing it after replacing. There's no clog!? Is it a venting issue? How could it be when the sump has and overflow hole on it?

Did you install the right kind of pump? Self priming? That's the only thing I can think of if the float is working, the pump is turning on, there's no clog in the pumps intake or discharge hose.

So I give up! hunk of crap! looks like you have to rip the wall apart off the mid cabin to access the discharge line. However, I don't think thats the issue, the line is clear?!?

There is usually a one-way rubber check valve on the discharge that could result in the same issue. The sump pump in my basement had a similar air-bound issue and the answer was to drill a small hole in the discharge line before the check valve to let the air bubble escape (the small amount of water that recirculates wasn’t significant).
Bottom line - you wouldn’t think a non self-priming pump is an issue if it sits submerged, but if there is a discharge restriction that can trap an air bubble in the impeller then it won’t discharge.

Thank you very much Yahoo82, i think this maybe it, but i can't see the whole discharge line because of the design of the 3200! Going to try and pull the discharge hose as straight as possible, shorten it and fingers crossed!

FYI, going to try to remove the little black check valve in the discharge outlet of the sump.

Did it!
So, it finally works. The little black rubber stop valve in the discharge nipple of the Shower sump box was creating an air lock after the 1st discharge. Removed it and now it works!

I wanted to latch on to this fantastic shower sump discussion while it's hot! I have a 3300. I haven't used my shower yet, but wanted to test it. So I ran water into the drain, while watching the sump box through a lower cabin access panel. It filled right up, never came on, then promptly started flooding out the top edge where the wires run in. Thankfully that dumps into the forward bilges where there's a working pump. The top panel happens to note a 3 amp fuse - went to my fuse panel, didn't see any 3s - and of course, nothing is labeled. So, let the troubleshooting begin...it's a Johnson 5715...Amazon actually has it for just over $100. But no need to replace if it's just a fuse...the canister...who knows. Thoughts?

Do you hear the pump running or not? If not then continue below …
Start at the float switch. Does it raise and lower? (it can get gummed up and stick). If you pull it up manually does the pump come on?
Unclip the pump and see if there are any obvious issues with the impeller that would bind it up.
Check out the documents section, there may be a diagram with the fuse locations of the panel. If not, take note of the wire color and trace it back to the fuse panel. You can also take a voltmeter and check for power at the pump, the switch outputs, then the switch inputs to see if there is a bad connection somewhere.

My shower sump has a switch in the head that must be turned on for it to work.

I guess my 3300 is a little different. Maybe previous owner? Maybe because there's no built in AC? My pump is connected directly to the shower drain and Like Mike there's a switch in the head to turn it on.
