2004 Maxum XR Thermostat kit

Hi guys,

First time poster. I’ll try to be specific as I can. I have a 3.0 litre 4 cylinder mercruiser alpha one that is running too cold approx 125 degrees where normally is runs around 175 degrees I’ve replaced the temp sensor which didn’t work. My local marina says it’s my thermostat however does anyone know which thermostat and gasket kit I need to buy? I took the 2 bolts & thermostat cover off and my thermostat appears to under a solid gasket not like the ones I see pictured for my thermostat. Anyone done this job have part numbers I need to order to replace thermostat and gaskets?

I get part numbers by going to marineengine dot com and entering the engine serial number. That will take you to an IPB, and you can get at least one part number, usually more.

The engine model and specs dictate the engine parts, not the vessel make and model.
