Default 2001 2700 SCR tune up

I purchased the boat about 6 months ago. It runs fine with the exception of starting to bog when I try to go above 3000 rpms. It got up on plane fine but after I slowed it down and then tried to get back up it started bogging. I have replaced the fuel filter and when I did I checked to see if there was any water and it was clean. I have replaced the vent for the fuel tank as it ran great when I removed the fuel cap. But it still boggs if I do not ease the boat up to speed. It had a tune up two years ago but only about 80 hrs ago. How often do you guys tune up your boat? I was told it could be my cap and rotor. It has the 7.4 ltr MPI in it. I had a compression check completed prior to buying the boat and there was about a 15% split. The lowest number was a 114 and the highest was 134. The check was completed cold. I have been told the numbers would be higher with the engine at operating temp. I am getting a little bummed as this is my first boat. Any input would be great. Thank you in advance if you are able to help.

Do you have the right prop on, per mfr's spec? If your boat can't get up to decent rpm's of like 4200 minimum, maybe that could be an issue. We tried upping the pitch of our last boat and it totally bogged and rpm's never got above like 3400, so we notched it down, then no problems.

couple of thoughts...one..is your hull clean??...second....check the fuel tank vent...maybe some mud dobber built a nest in there..or the line got kinked....
