Default What does this alarm mean?

I am a new owner of a 2004 2400SD. An audible alarm sounds when I start the engine. What does this alarm mean?

Most alarms are tied to oil pressure, temp, and drive oil level. Some will sound when you first turn ignition on and go off as soon as engine is running.

Welcome aboard

When starting the engine the alarm does a self check until the engine starts. This is by design and the low oil pressure until the engine gets up to idle speed has the low oil pressure switch closed and makes the alarm sound.
