Default I just joined yesterday - Love my Maxium

I have my 1997-2400 SCR 10th anniversary edition for last 5 years. Love using it, hate fixing it. this year I put in a rebuilt 2002 Throttle body fuel injection on my Alpha 1 Gen 2. I put into the ocean in April just before all lock down. I boat around the pacific north west, Gambier island is our home base and then drive back to Port Moody marina. Heaven when all works. Enjoy you first outing, I still remember mine....gets better and better the more you use it.

I have one small but trouble some issue with delay in going into neutral, about 3 seconds before it sets into neutral, same if I go into reverse.

I have looked at this adjustment video but I'm not very good at this kind of stuff so I need an expert to adjust this to get rid of the delay as it sucks to dock like this. Maybe someone else has experience this.

I would follow the procedure in the Mercruiser manual which can be found under Documents of this site.

Your shifting problem can likely be fixed by adjusting the lower shift cable, or, tightening the shift shaft. Manual #14 covers the A1G2 sterndrive, and has excellent information. Page 1C-33 has section on troubleshooting shift problems.
