Default Temp Sender - New style??

Just repowered 1999 3000 SCR / 5.0 BII.
Seatrialed and dash gauges read 175 (straight up/down on the OEM faria gauges) after running for a bit. Temps shot with an IR gun at the sender base showed 30 degrees lower temp.

I don't mind that the actual temp is lower than shown for the moment, but would like to have the gauges read a little closer to the real temp.

Does anyone know if the sender resistances have changed since 1999?
This is the same for both engines, so I'm looking to the replacement senders first.

Do you still have the old engines to take the temp senders out of?
Otherwise, you can do some research on mercruiserparts.com to compare part numbers.
