Default Starter motor part number

Hi All, Starter motor that failed is an after market , numbers on housing don't check out, anyone know original number for this , its the 3.0 L Mercury engine fitted to a Maxum 180 2006 model, I can get one here in Cyprus but really expensive sourced a few in UK and USA but need to make sure its the right one , long way to ship if does not fit !!!!

Call Mercruiser and give them the engine serial number and they will tell you the correct part number.

Hi I am in Cyprus so that would be a real long distance call !! just needed number so could cross refer for aftermarket part , can get OEM here but so expensive !!! as it happens sourced one in UK, wife flying back next week so she going to bring back ..Result

We need your engine serial number to get correct part. Try going to one of these sites to get part number, then you can shop for best price:
Mercruiser parts, Mercruiser Engine Parts Lookup and Discounted Instock Mercruiser OEM and Aftermarket Parts

Hi Thanks for info but carrier charges from US to Cyprus is really expensive plus import charges are unbelievable making it not cost effective , fine in Europe country to country because of free trade

I thought you were looking for the part number for your starter. Any of those sites will have the correct part number for OEM and Sierra brand. You can use this info to confirm that the part your wife picks up is the correct part.

He was not saying to buy the starter from one of these site but to use them to look up the starter part number based on your engine serial number. Then you can search a replacement in your corner of the world.

Is there nowhere in Cyprus that can rebuild yours?
I just did some calculations and found a starter and delivery for around 280euros. Does that sound about right?
