Default Starter issues after Tubo hose clamp broke

I have a 3700 SY Cummins twin 330. I had a turbo hose clamp break loss RPM's got that fixed now I am told the starter is out on the same starboard engine this is second time in 18 months same starter goes out. Anyone have this kind of repeat starter issues

The two would not be related in any way, shape or form. (All elephants are grey, therefore all things grey must be elephants).

What are they saying is the nature of the problem with the starter? It happens sometimes. The guy that bought my last boat had to replace the starter even though I had replaced it 18 - 24 months earlier. In his case, it was the bendex gear.

Thx! Yes I figured they were not related, just a strange occurrence at the same time. Yes the prior owner just replaced it May of 17 so 1 year. I will check more with the Tech thx for the responce
