Default Rockers arm adjustment...

Not a question about how to do it, adjusted more 350's than I care to count.... Question is, the valve cover won't come off with the exhaust risers on the motor, awesome design.. not!
1. So the process is remove the riser
2. remove the valve cover
3. reinstall the riser
4. adjust
5. remove the riser again
6. reinstall the valve cover
7. reinstall the riser again

Or am I missing something.. and there is a better way? Engine has been SIM tested and I have pressure readings for all 8 cylinders. I know I could have adjusted them cold.. or not running.. but that's not how I prefer to adjust hydraulics.
There is a RED tag that came on the long block that says WARNING valves must be adjusted after starting......

O-btw.. It's all back in and lined up correctly using the engine alignment tool... getting really close!

You're gonna adjust them with the engine running ORR? Man, oil everywhere, unless you have an old set of cut-away VC's.

I'd just do one at a time. Bring each one onto the base circle, back off so you have just a bit of play at the push rod, tighten to zero lash, then give the nut 1/2 to 1 (ask the builder) turn. The lifter plungers have pleanty of range in them to adjust for any small differences.
