Lightbulb replacing intake manifold 97 2400scr

This is my first post,

I recently blew a hold in the top of the intake manifold on my 1997 2400 scr. It looks like it just rusted through and I heard it happen when trying to get on a plain after sittting a while.

Im no mechanic and I could use some help finding what parts i need to replace it like gaskets for below the intake manifold and for seating the carburetor?

I keep the boat in Marathon in the Fl keys and I am hoping to bring the parts down to fix it.

I think i found the right intake manifold on ebay i will add the link below.

The thermostat housing is also getting crunchy so I am thinking about
replacing that as well.

Can anyone help me with this?

A good start would be if someone could verify the intake manifold i found on eBay is the correct one.

the engine is a 1997 5.7 litre mercruiser

I really appreciate the help.

Do you know your engine serial number?

That intake will NOT work as it’s a Vortec 8 bolt and you have a 12 bolt intake being a 1997.

You need a 12 bolt intake and gasket set plus carb gasket. Is yours a 2 bbl or 4 bbl carb?

I know you said you're not a mechanic, but are you able to set top dead center on your #1 cylinder? How about use a timing light? You'll need to do both.

Under Documents of this site you will find mercruiser manual # 24 page 3A-21 covers the removal and installation of the intake manifold.

thanks to you both,

my plan is to gather the parts then bring someone down to give me a hand with the process.

There are almost no mechanics in the Keys that will work on an IO and they have all told me to order the parts first.
