Default raw water pump leaking on 41 SCA cumming engine model 2000

I have small drip leak on my raw water engine pump. I am told I must replace pump to fix leak. Looks like 800.00 pump. My model is 2000 sca 41. Any suggestions on lesser expensive fix?
Thanks BobbyBeach

13 years. I'd just replace the pump, and begin regular, close inspections on the other one.

Thanks, I guess that is good long run for pump. My concern has in fact turned to other pump.
Appreciate it.

Default Raw water pump for Cummins

I also have a leak and plan on replacing with SMX Seawater Pumps. I have the 370B cummins and engine year is 2000.
Here is an article about the pumps and replacement instructions. http://www.sbmar.com/articles/dealin...mins_6bta_5.9/
