Default proper plugs wires and Dist.

I have a 1994 mercruiser 4.3 with the thunderbolt ignition. Am looking at replacing the plugs wires and distributor cap along with the rotor. Would like some info if those are standard for a 4.3 chevy engine or special marine grade parts. Also plan on checking the timing and would like to know where the setpoint for the timing would be. Thanks for any info received.

Before you go and blow up that nice boat of yours....... go buy Mercury brand name parts period. Clymer manuals well have the timing and much much more.

I was in a hurry and forgot .........NGK spark plugs............ Thats what merc puts in them now. You can find all this stuff on ebay at a very nice discount. Stay away from the aftermarket Dist and cap-rotor. Yes you are going to pay alittle bit more for Merc but IMHO it is worth it.
