Question power steering pump replace or repair?

Hi All

I'm based in the UK and have a Maxum 2700 with a leaking power steering pump. The leak is coming from the front seal behind the pulley. I have been looking around and cant find a pump in the UK so started looking in the US, i just wondered if anyone has come across the Sierra 18-7508 replacement pump and can recommend it? I can get one from NY and it will take 2 weeks to get here. Is there an alternative? is there a seal kit so i can try repairing it myself?
Can I get an automobile version and swap parts? If so what would I ask for?

any help or comments appreciated

Regards

Colin

If the seal is leaking the bearing is probably bad as well. Yes you can use an automotive version of the saganel pump but would need to use the marine pressure regulator from yours which unscrews from the back where the hose attaches.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply, it seems Saginaw pumps are just as difficult to get as the Sierra version in the UK. Although they are a lot cheaper but so far I cant find a dealer who will ship to the UK. Ill keep looking.
