Default No Start

Mercruiser 5.0 MPI, Bravo 3. I know this is a broad question, but the engine won't start. Not a battery problem, it turns over with no problem. Just won't start. Sounds like it's starving for fuel. I am thinking fuel filter? What do you guys think?

check for spark.
if it has spark, try spraying a little fuel in the intake.
chase the appropriate issue from there.

CnC, when you turn the key to the Run position, before turning it to the Start position, do you hear the fuel pump run? The FP should run for a few seconds then stop.

What the others said, you need to isolate it as either a fuel or spark issue and go from there.

Being MPI the engine can be scanned for fault codes.

Yes the fuel pump runs for about 3-5 seconds then stops.

When the IAC on my 5.7 MPI failed the engine would not start with the throttle lever in neutral. If I advanced the throttle (without the drive in gear) I could get it to start, but it wouldn't idle.

I had gas, I had spark, but with the throttle in neutral I had no air.

does it have a safety switch with a lanyard attached? I had issues with mine being a bit sticky so that would cause no spark
