Default New member, first time with inboard

Hey all,

New member here, as I just took possession of a 94 1800 SR2. Like most older boats, it needs love and attention. The floor will need to be replaced.

As I mentioned, first time with an inboard motor so I’m trying to learn as I go.

My first question is about fluids. I see a box on the side of the motor that I assume is for power steering fluid? And there is one at top that says gear oil. Could you guys guide me on to what fluids to get? Trying to get it in the water this weekend but want to make sure everything is in place.

Greatly appreciated!

Welcome aboard!

Under Documents of this site you will find Mercruiser manuals for your engine and drive.

What engine do you have? Engine oil is Mercruiser 25W40, gear lube is Mercruiser high performance gear lube and power steering is Mercruiser trim and power steering fluid.

Hey! Thanks for the super quick reply!

It has the Mercruiser 4.3. I will check out the documents section. Thanks for that piece of info!

Is this the correct one?

Ordered both fluids. Motor oil is clean and on spot. Hoping the weather will hold up for sunday, so I can take my boys to the water!
